There’s a new bar to add Brissy’s already overflowing list of nightlife options in Fortitude Valley. Since bars seem to open every 5 minutes in the Valley, I wouldn’t usually even bat an eyelid at the announcement of a new watering hole, but this new establishment could be different.
It’s called Woodland, and it’s actually located above one the seediest long-established sports-bars in the area, the Mustang Bar. The reason this bar has the potential to be half decent, is that it’s a brain-child of the owner of The Outpost.
Apparently, Woodland will start by opening regularly on Saturday nights through September and then I’m told there
are lots of special things booked in from October onwards.
Entry is via Coniston Lane which is off McLachlan Street, between Alhambra and the Sun Apartments.
I was hoping to hit Woodland last night, but my legs were a little bit weary after a full of awesome live (and free!) entertainment courtesy of the Valley Fiesta. If anyone made it to Woodland last night, don’t be shy…. leave a comment below and tell us how it was!

* Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!
* This is my first time i visit here. I found so many interesting stuff in your blog especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the enjoyment here! keep up the good work.
* hi, excellent web blog, and a very good understand! one for my bookmarks.
* One remembers that men’s life seems to be not cheap, but people need money for various issues and not every person earns enough money. Thus to receive quick business loans and just short term loan would be a right solution.

was really full, good music.
Firemen rocking up to check on stuff halfway through the first band was a bit disconcerting!
It was really good.
Music was a little loud for a bar so no option for talking only downstairs in the smoking area.
Great atmosphere and good bands playing.
Great new indie bar
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading.
