Where
Most of the stuff you see on this site is written from a comfy little corner on the Brisbane River, in New Farm (Queensland, Australia).
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Brisbane area, New Farm is an eclectic suburb approximately 1 kilometre for Brisbane’s CBD. It is surrounded by cafes (some who serve good coffee, some who serve extremely large & pretentious portions of attitude), watering holes (my local is Gerties, just up the road if you care to shout me a Coopers Pale one Friday night), live music venues, and a lot of image-conscious dudes and dudettes trying to mark their turf through their own interpretations of fashion.
It’s a leafy casual neighbourhood with a slightly grungy feel, heightened by the smattering of unemployed/drug-riddled/eating-disorderly/back-packin’/psychologically-challenged shelters scattered across the suburb, but I reckon it’s got one of the most genuine feel-good community vibes that Brisbane has to offer.
New Farm is my home, and it’s rad.
