Japan has always led the way with completely impractical yet ultra-stylish watches. A mate and I used to ogle at of the remarkably complex timepieces on Tokyo Flash (a Japanese online store specialising in weird-ass watches). The problem back then was, all of them were priced in Yen, included international shipping fees, and ended up costing as much as a fucking Rolex. And let’s face it, a Rolex is probably going to stand the test of time (pardon the pun) better than a piece of disposable Jap-crap…
I was stoked to stumble across this Japanese-inspired watch today. It’s equally as space age, and equally as hard to read, as most of the watches in the Tokyo Flash range…. but at a fraction of the price. Problem solved.
It’s called the Alpha Centauri, it’s all metal with red LED lights, and you can buy it for just $35 Australian, and shipped locally, from GeekyGadgets.com.au.
